Release Notes — Week of June 29, 2026: Claims (Beta), Smarter Scheduling, and a Better Ask Clerie

By Clerie Team

This week's Clerie EHR release brings a faster Claims (Beta) experience, room booking that never double-books, clearer calendar billing badges, and a more accurate Ask Clerie help assistant for mental health practitioners.

Claims (Beta)

  • Your claims list now loads faster and scrolls continuously, so you can work through claims without paging back and forth.
  • The list defaults to the last 30 days plus anything still outstanding, putting the work that actually needs attention front and center.
  • You can select and submit every ready claim across pages at once, and the submit button shows the exact number of claims that will go out.
  • Balances and payment totals refresh right after you record a cash, check, or online card payment — no page reload needed.
  • Bulk copay and coinsurance updates reflect instantly in your totals.
  • New filter dropdowns make it easier to narrow down to the claims you care about, and a background process keeps your claim totals continuously accurate.

Scheduling & Rooms

  • A room can no longer be double-booked — the same room and time slot is now reserved for one session only, guaranteed.
  • Recurring appointments now show a room availability preview right in the appointment dialog, so you can see conflicts before you book.
  • Rooms are correctly booked, kept, or freed when you reschedule, edit, cancel, or archive sessions — including for recurring series and this-and-future changes.
  • Unroomed in-person sessions display a "needs room" marker on the calendar so nothing slips through.
  • Attempting to book a room that's already taken now returns a clear message instead of an error.
  • Office admins and admin schedulers can now use the room picker.

Calendar Improvements

  • Billing badges are clearer and more honest: unclassified sessions show "Needs billing setup," empty drafts show "Needs attention" instead of "Ready to bill," and no-show/late-cancel fee sessions now show as billed.
  • Tooltips explain what each badge and event icon means, and the billing legend now matches what you see on events.
  • Badges correctly reflect the right claim for the right client on multi-insurance sessions.
  • New "Mark as No-Show" and "Remove No-Show Mark" actions in the event dialog.
  • Dragging an event to another day no longer reverts, 30-minute drag-selects stay 30 minutes, and the new-session dialog opens immediately.
  • Master day view now shades each therapist's off-hours.

Ask Clerie & Help Center

  • Ask Clerie now verifies that supporting material is genuinely relevant before using it, so answers are better grounded and less likely to include off-topic references.
  • "See also" links are more trustworthy — unverified suggestions are no longer surfaced.
  • We audited real questions and added over 100 new and updated help articles covering telehealth, billing, claims, portal, notes, and team management, plus corrections to outdated instructions.

Clearinghouse Usage & Billing

  • Your usage card now shows both the current month and the just-closed month for a clearer picture of clearinghouse costs.
  • See anticipated charges before they happen, with clickable receipts and email notifications that link straight to your invoice.
  • Test, sandbox, and sample claim traffic is never billed, and safeguards prevent duplicate or cross-month charges.
  • Charges are now based on a valid payment method on file, and very small monthly amounts carry forward rather than being charged.

Notes, Documents & Exports

  • Progress notes are now dated by date of service rather than when they were written.
  • You can download a progress note directly from the session page.
  • Large document and bundle exports now generate in the background and notify you when ready, with faster repeat downloads and better reliability for big PDFs.

Client Portal, Intake & Assessments

  • Custom assessments now render correctly in the client portal, with builder gaps closed.
  • Intake flow no longer bounces verified clients back to the first step or leaves a spinner hanging.
  • Copy-portal-link now produces the correct link every time.

Eligibility & Insurance

  • Dependents the payer didn't confirm are now clearly flagged, with preview parity so what you see matches what's submitted.
  • Dependent relationships are reconciled against payer responses instead of silently overwriting what you entered.
  • Added Common Law Spouse as a relationship option and standardized relationship handling across the app.

Telehealth

  • Improved audio reliability with better relay coverage and continuous connection health monitoring, so inbound-audio issues are caught and diagnosed faster.
  • Mobile pre-join screen keeps the Join button visible, and pre-join content stays neatly within its card.
  • Office admins can once again copy the patient meeting link from the event dialog.

Privacy & Security

  • Strengthened protections so records, claims, and usage details are only ever visible within your own organization — deep links to another organization's records now return a friendly not-found page.
  • Portal assessment submissions are restricted to client self-service only.
  • Refined role-based access across supervision, telehealth, billing, and usage pages.

Admin & Practice Settings

  • Client self-scheduling is now off by default, and related self-service options are hidden when it's turned off.
  • Payer action items display in a compact click-to-view popover with working links, and enrollment columns stay visible.
  • Simplified supervision statuses by removing ON_HOLD and ESCALATED.
  • Fixed a crash on the supervisor dashboard and tightened permission checks on treatment plan generation.

Polish & Fixes

  • Menu items now have proper hover highlighting and pointer cursors.
  • Friendly error messages when saving colors fails due to a network issue.
  • Client balance dialog stays stable while you work, and add-credit warnings correctly respect the outstanding balance.
  • Archived or orphaned notes are now visible to authorized viewers, and single-case clients no longer have records hidden.
