Release Notes — October 24, 2026: Custom reports, denial explanations, and clearer claim printing

By Clerie Team

Clerie's latest EHR release brings a custom report builder, plain-language denial explanations, revenue by payer, and a range of billing and claim accuracy fixes for mental health practitioners.

Reporting

  • Build your own reports with rows grouped by client, clinician, or payer, so you can slice your practice data the way you think about it.
  • A new Revenue by payer report shows where your income actually comes from, with secondary payers credited under their own name and an honest 'Unassigned' label when revenue can't be attributed.
  • Session counts now include clients you've discharged, so historical totals stay accurate.
  • Payer filtering in reports is more reliable, returning the rows you'd expect.

Denials and Claims

  • The Denied claims report now explains each denial in plain language, using our own wording for denial and remark codes instead of raw insurer shorthand.
  • Denials are explained even when the remittance comes back under a different claim number than the one you submitted.
  • Suggested next steps for a denial no longer tell you to bill the client — because billing a client after a denial only applies when the client genuinely owes the balance (now documented in Help).
  • Claims are no longer flagged as having 'no live insurance claim' when a secondary claim is still active.
  • A few claims that lingered as open after a review round are now correctly closed.

CMS-1500 Accuracy

  • Outside lab charges now save and print in the correct amounts, and won't print alongside an unticked box. An imported charge with an unclear tick is now treated as a 'yes'.
  • The Medicare rule for prior payment amounts on sent claims now reads the filing code the claim was actually sent with.
  • A hand-typed $0 prior payment now clearly shows what will print, with updated wording for hand-entered EOBs, mailed secondary claims, and where a claim number came from.
  • Prior payment amounts follow the remittance once retyped, including across reversal chains, with clearer warning text.

Billing

  • An unmatched split remittance now offers the right action, pointing you to dismiss rather than reconstruct.
  • Payment reservations made against an existing session are correctly recognized as your practice's own.

Activity Feed

  • Group messages now appear as a single row, naming the first recipient plus a count of the rest.
  • The client filter now surfaces messages that a client sent, not just ones they received, and clients left out of a thread are offered under Clients.
  • The Users filter now lists your clinic's team members rather than clients.

Historical Records

  • Storage pricing for historical records is now shown directly on the Settings tab, at $0.25 per GB-month.
  • If we can't confirm the status of your historical records, you'll see an outage notice rather than a misleading 'off' state.
