Release Notes — October 8, 2026: Client Portal Treatment Plans, Smarter Billing Dates, and More Reliable Payment Posting

By Clerie Team

Clerie's latest EHR release brings treatment plan sharing and signing to the client portal, more accurate billing dates for therapists, and more dependable insurance payment posting for mental health practices.

Client Portal: Treatment Plans

  • Clients can now open and review their treatment plan directly in the Treatment Plans tab of the portal, and it opens automatically when they arrive from a review request.
  • Review requests are sent as secure single-use links, so clients can get to the right plan without extra steps.
  • Clients only ever see the one plan you've currently shared with them — no outdated or draft versions.
  • Once a client signs a plan, it stays available for them to view and reference.
  • We closed gaps that could allow a plan to be signed twice or shared inconsistently, so what a client can read, sign, and share now follows one clear rule.

Billing & Claims

  • Billing summaries and claims are now dated by the session's actual local day rather than a universal time zone, so your reports line up with the days you actually worked.
  • Date-of-service filters in claims views now match the date printed on the claim, making searches and reconciliation far more predictable.
  • An unreadable date no longer quietly widens a search to all time — results stay scoped to what you asked for.
  • Rollup rows that haven't been reconciled yet stay visible in dated views while catch-up is in progress, so nothing disappears from your workflow.
  • We corrected two cases where claims could be overstated and fixed an error path that could interrupt billing actions.

Insurance Payment Posting (ERA)

  • Applying a remittance now stops if the session has no active charge to post against, preventing silent mis-postings.
  • Take-backs and recoupments are now matched only to the specific claim they name, and the system records exactly which one was used — so your ledger tells an accurate story.
  • Ignoring a remittance now posts nothing further and keeps the row open when a take-back in the file hasn't been reversed, so unresolved money stays visible.
  • Retry now clearly names who needs to act when a take-back hasn't reversed or when split dates disagree.
  • Adjustments that only land on zero-charge lines are no longer treated as posted money.

AI Assistant & Notes

  • Sessions are now dated in their own time zone everywhere the AI assistant works, so AI-generated notes and summaries reference the correct day.
  • Assistant replies after you make a selection are now saved to your chat history, and a new chart is announced only once it's actually saved.
  • Follow-up messages stay visible beneath reply cards, and replies that arrive after you've closed a window no longer pop up unexpectedly.
  • When the assistant can't determine a note type, it now tells you clearly instead of failing silently.

Notifications & Team Settings

  • Every clinician can now manage their own message email notifications.
  • Read-only access to the notifications tab is now clearly defined so team members see exactly what they should.
