Release Notes — October 6, 2026: Redacted Billing View for Billing Staff
By Clerie Team
Clerie's latest EHR update gives billing staff a privacy-safe session view, smarter insurance payment handling, and more reliable scheduling for mental health and therapy practices.
Billing Access & Client Privacy
- Billing staff can now open a session in a redacted billing view that shows what they need for claims and payments without exposing clinical content.
- The Analysis tab and emotion insights are now hidden from anyone without clinical access, and tie to progress note permissions rather than general reporting access.
- While permissions are still loading, the billing view now stays locked down by default, so clinical details are never briefly visible to the wrong person.
- Deleting a client no longer affects the sign-in access of front-desk or billing staff, and shared household accounts are preserved instead of blocking the deletion.
Insurance Payments & Remittance
- Payer takebacks now post correctly against the right response and are clearly flagged for your review.
- Insurance responses are now organized by payer position (primary, secondary, and beyond) rather than by the order they arrived, so coordination-of-benefits situations read the way you'd expect.
- Reversed or voided payments are no longer mistakenly counted as payer payments or preliminary copays, keeping statements and balances accurate.
- When a deposit is parked awaiting a decision, you'll now see every deposit at that payer position listed, with clear options for resolving it.
Scheduling & Calendar
- Moving a session now carries its overdue-note to-do and any cancelled draft along with it.
- A clinician a session has been moved to can now cancel that session.
- Cancelling a recently moved session no longer leaves a stray event on your connected calendar.
- Handing off a caseload to an inactive therapist is now refused upfront, before any changes are made.
Activity Feed & Client Portal
- Signed progress notes and supervisor cosigns in the activity feed now link directly to the related session, so you can jump straight to the source.
- Questions submitted from the client portal now route to the therapist the portal is actually showing.
Clarity & Documentation
- The auto-charge tab now states plainly that only self-pay fees and copays are charged.
- Scheduling now explains what admitting a grace-window handoff target involves before you confirm.
