Release Notes — October 1, 2026: Clearer Invoicing, Smarter Copay Handling, and More Reliable Recording
By Clerie Team
This Clerie EHR release brings more accurate invoicing and copay billing, cleaner insurance and payer information, and more dependable session recording for mental health therapists and practice management teams.
Billing & Invoicing
- You can now send an invoice directly from the copay collection dialog, with the invoice clearly labeled by the exact amount it bills.
- Invoice options now accurately describe what they do and what they'll charge, so there are no surprises before you send.
- Invoice amounts are now quoted from the invoiceable balance rather than a net figure, giving clients a bill that matches what they actually owe.
- When a guarantor is responsible for multiple clients, related draft invoices are grouped together instead of cluttering your list.
- The Client Pay list now shows the correct invoice type automatically.
- Refunded payments are no longer reapplied, and credits now behave consistently everywhere they appear.
- Copays are now netted across the full encounter rather than individual lines, eliminating cases where a copay could be counted twice.
- If a service line is changed after billing has started, the replacement is now charged correctly — and a paid insurance copay follows its line when a code is swapped before the remittance arrives.
Insurance & Payer Information
- The Insurance tab no longer displays in-network / out-of-network status, removing a field that was often unreliable.
- Payers that don't require claims enrollment are no longer incorrectly flagged as unable to bill.
- Payer submission guidance now reflects each payer's actual support level, and coordination-of-benefits details, including secondary address lines, are sent more accurately.
- Automatic electronic remittance enrollment through Stedi now submits your resolved billing address, and long organization names are formatted correctly for claim submission — reducing rejections.
Assessments
- The SBQ-R now displays its distinguishing wording in bold, matching the published instrument, with prior versions preserved for existing records.
Session Recording
- Recording sessions now stay connected more reliably, retaining context when a connection is re-established.
- Transcripts that span a reconnect are handled gracefully so you don't lose content, and periods of silence are managed without interrupting active work.
Help & Documentation
- The Getting Started scheduling tutorial now walks you through booking appointments step by step.
