Release Notes — September 30, 2026: Smarter Payment Collection, Clearer Recording Recovery
By Clerie Team
This Clerie EHR release brings one-step credit-and-card collection, more trustworthy payment results, and stronger session recording recovery for mental health practices — plus notes and claims accuracy improvements for therapists.
Payments & Collections
- Applying a client's credit balance and charging the remainder is now a single collection — no more running two separate transactions and hoping they line up.
- Collections that are fully covered by credit now correctly report as successful instead of showing a misleading failure.
- When a collection charges nothing to a card, you're no longer asked to pick a payment method.
- Credit entry is now easier to type into, and the credit field clearly shows the amount that will actually be applied rather than just what was keyed in.
- Credit is applied to the line you clicked, limited to that line's remaining balance, so you never over-apply against a charge that has no debt left to settle.
- If your client's credit balance can't be read, Clerie now stops and tells you instead of quietly treating it as zero.
- Payment results are far more trustworthy: a lost or unreadable response from Stripe is now reported as an unknown outcome rather than a false decline, a captured card is never reported as 'nothing moved', and declines are consistently labeled as declines.
- Collection failures now give one consistent explanation and one set of next steps, so billers aren't left guessing whether a card was charged.
- Validation happens before any credit moves, and only for cards that will actually be charged.
- Payment dialogs now close cleanly after submission, and a stale dialog session can no longer authorize a second attempt.
Session Recording
- You can now recover an interrupted recording directly from the client Overview, and cancelled recordings are never offered for recovery.
- Dismissing a failed stop no longer discards your audio — discards are now explicitly confirmed, and Clerie tells you exactly how the recovery offer was closed.
- Audio a clinician permanently deleted will never be re-attached to a session.
- The cancel flow has been tightened end to end, and pausing or restarting a recording now stops capture cleanly.
- Session cards no longer promise a transcript that won't be produced, and telehealth sessions are consistently handled at a single, reliable checkpoint.
- Recording status is now stated directly rather than inferred, so what you see reflects what's actually happening.
Notes & Documentation
- Pasted content now behaves consistently: what you see in the preview is exactly what gets saved.
- Long notes are no longer silently truncated on save, and lengthy AI reasoning now falls back gracefully instead of cutting off.
- A failed extraction can no longer copy a group note into an individual client's chart, and re-running extraction no longer removes archived notes.
- Copying note content is now all-or-nothing — no more half-applied copies or hidden partial failures.
- Attestation sections now draft correctly, and AI drafting considers note content and formatting separately for better-shaped results.
- The notes panel no longer refuses to load after certain edits.
Claims & Coordination of Benefits
- Corrections are now filed under the exact claim number the payer echoed back, including legacy over-length claim numbers, reducing rejections.
- Claim routing rules for billing and rendering provider scenarios have been corrected and clarified, so more claims go out right the first time.
- Coordination of benefits handling is more accurate for claim numbers containing special characters.
Reliability & Polish
- Dialogs now scroll properly with your mouse wheel and keep their action buttons on screen even when the content is tall.
- Removed a dead dialog and several confusing warning states that could appear without cause.
