Release Notes — September 21, 2026: More Reliable Insurance Claims and Payer Setup

This Clerie EHR release brings smarter rendering provider selection on claims, clearer payer enrollment guidance, and a more dependable claims workflow for mental health therapists managing insurance billing.

Claims & CMS-1500 Accuracy

• Every claim now determines its rendering provider once, at creation, using a consistent set of rules — so the provider shown on the claim page is the one that will actually be filed.
• The rendering provider picker now only offers clinicians from the same clinic as the claim, preventing accidental cross-clinic selections. If no one in that clinic qualifies, the list stays empty rather than widening to unrelated providers.
• Providers without an NPI, or names that can't be filed cleanly, are no longer offered as valid choices — and when an NPI matches more than one clinician, Clerie asks you to choose instead of guessing.
• First and last names are now handled correctly in every place a provider's name is written, eliminating cases where a name could be filed in the wrong order.
• Auto-fill and "Set as default" now follow the exact same provider logic as the rest of the claim, so results are consistent no matter how you get there.
• "Set as default" is now saved separately from your in-progress claim edits, so setting a default won't unexpectedly alter the claim you're working on.
• The claim preview and the printable CMS-1500 now stay in sync, so what you see before submitting is what gets filed.
• Filing a replacement claim no longer requires you to make a change first, and replacements no longer substitute a different rendering provider than the original.

Payer Setup & Enrollment

• Clerie now maintains an up-to-date directory of payers, refreshed weekly, so payer lookup and search results are faster and more accurate.
• Before you register with a payer, Clerie now confirms that the payer can actually accept claims — and clearly declines those that can't, saving you a failed enrollment.
• Payer enrollment errors now show plain-language explanations written for practices, instead of raw technical messages from upstream systems.
• Missing NPI warnings during payer setup are now always shown and no longer disappear on their own, so setup gaps don't slip through.
• The registration wizard now reports results accurately for each individual payer, and payer support status is tracked per payer rather than all at once.
• Payer support badges now state the facts plainly, and stale information always offers a clear way to refresh.

Billing Reliability

• Attempting to edit an archived claim now fails clearly with an explanation, instead of appearing to succeed while changes are discarded.
• Notifications and alerts across claims now always include a readable message — no more blank pop-ups when something unexpected happens.
• General stability and accuracy improvements throughout the claims and billing workflow.
