Release Notes — September 16, 2026: A Clearer Insurance Response Workflow

By Clerie Team

Clerie's EHR update makes recording insurance responses simpler for mental health practitioners, with a redesigned payment entry dialog, smarter billing reconciliation, and preferred-name support across client communications.

Insurance Response Entry

  • Recording an insurance response is now a focused, step-by-step conversation: each panel asks about one thing, and questions appear in a consistent order every time.
  • You now decide what happens to a remaining balance instead of having the system infer it — and you can see exactly what a write-off moves to, not just what it becomes.
  • Redundant prompts have been removed, including the question about where figures came from and the auto-fill shortcut. Payment details now appear below the figures, where you enter them.
  • Correction prompts have been trimmed to what matters: replace the response, see the movement, confirm.
  • When a response can't be applied to a claim because a secondary payer is involved, Clerie now takes you straight to the secondary claim rather than just explaining the problem.
  • You can now acknowledge a first insurance response without the follow-up payment question timing out.
  • The version history area now shows when each version was applied.

Billing & Superbills

  • Superbills and invoices now show your client's legal name where documentation requires it, while emails and greetings use their preferred name.
  • Superbills now handle charts with no name on file gracefully instead of producing inconsistent documents.
  • Insurance encounters that lost their connection to a session are now reconciled automatically, and permanently unbillable records no longer clutter your review queue.
  • Reconciliation is more reliable overall, with clearer signals when a process stalls.

Clients & Communications

  • Assessments, consent forms, collateral documents, session notifications, and portal access links all greet clients by their preferred name.
  • The portal-link dialog now previews the exact name that will be sent, so there are no surprises.
  • Clearer, more consistent wording in the SMS consent warning and portal-link dialogs.

Assessments

  • Unanswered slider questions now show a blank value instead of a misleading default, so partially completed assessments read accurately.

Permissions & Administration

  • Billing access for therapists is now in place across all existing practices, so billing-capable team members have the access they need without manual setup.
  • Granting system administrator access is now a single click for authorized admins.
  • Admin row actions are consolidated into a tidy menu, making newer options easy to find.
  • Billers directed to correct a provider's NPI can now reach that page instead of being turned away.

Support

  • Support requests now reach an additional member of our team, so you get a faster response.
