Release Notes — September 4, 2026: More Accurate Billing, Claims, and Revenue Reporting
By Clerie Team
This Clerie EHR release brings more accurate billing and claims handling for mental health practitioners, with clearer archived session behavior, safer auto-charge scheduling, and trustworthy revenue reporting for your practice.
Billing Improvements
- Archived sessions no longer show up as unbilled work, so your outstanding balances reflect only real, billable appointments.
- You can now archive a session even if its invoice has already been paid — archiving is a records action and no longer blocked by payment status.
- Rescheduling a session no longer affects billing records or balances, so moving an appointment is a clean, no-surprises action.
- Payment messaging while a charge is still processing has been corrected — staff are no longer prompted to refund a payment that actually went through.
- Reversals on individual charge lines are handled more reliably and stay consistent across invoices.
Automatic Payments
- When a session is rescheduled, its automatic charge is now deferred to the new time instead of being dropped altogether.
- Automatic charges are re-checked against whether the session is still billable before running, preventing charges for sessions that shouldn't be billed.
- Pending automatic payment activity is now grouped by the reason it's waiting, making it much easier to see what needs attention.
Claims and Insurance
- Draft or unfiled claim work no longer occupies a session's claim slot, so you can file the real claim without getting blocked.
- Correction drafts can no longer be submitted as if they were claims, protecting you from accidental duplicate filings.
- Claim status reporting is more accurate — in-progress drafts are no longer counted as live, submitted claims.
- Resubmissions now correctly recognize replacement claims, and tasks tied to archived claims can no longer be changed.
- Stronger safeguards at every claim submission point mean fewer incorrect or duplicate submissions reaching payers.
Reporting
- Revenue reports now measure what was actually billed rather than mixing in what's still owed, giving you numbers you can trust for both point-in-time and period-over-period views.
Admin
- Admins can now see all organizations a user belongs to, including past ones, making account history easier to review.
