Release Notes — August 31, 2026 – September 1, 2026: Safer client records, stronger telehealth privacy, and more accurate billing reconciliation
By Clerie Team
This Clerie EHR release brings safer client record creation, fail-closed camera privacy in telehealth, and more accurate insurance and payment reconciliation for mental health practices.
Client Records
- Adding a client — whether from your client list, online booking, or an import — now always creates a fresh, dedicated client account, so records never get crossed between people.
- Clerie will no longer reuse an account that already holds a chart elsewhere, protecting against accidental record mixing across practices.
- Public booking pages now only decline a duplicate when the contact already exists at your own clinic, so clients who see other practitioners elsewhere can still book with you.
- Archived or cancelled sessions no longer appear as a client's next appointment, so your schedule previews reflect reality.
Telehealth
- Your camera now fails closed: if the video mirror can't be created, video is disabled rather than left in an uncertain state.
- Your self-view now shows exactly what your client is actually seeing, instead of reassuring you while your client's screen sits blank.
- Camera and microphone status is announced only once it's truly live, so indicators no longer show an unconfirmed request as active.
- Clearer, consistent behavior when a video stream fails mid-session: unrecoverable problems disable video, while temporary stops simply pause it.
Billing & Insurance
- Clients who have already paid no longer receive payment reminders.
- Improved refund reconciliation with Stripe so refunds are counted once, correctly, and cash collected on account is properly reflected in balances.
- More accurate matching of procedure codes on incoming insurance remittances, with faster processing on exact matches.
- Better handling of explanation-of-benefits details so amounts are tied to the right encounter and a voided refund is no longer mistaken for a shortfall.
Accounts & Invitations
- Team invitations now consistently enforce that a person belongs to a single clinic, preventing ambiguous or conflicting staff access.
- Invitation and password-reset links are matched reliably to the correct email address, removing edge cases where the wrong account could be selected.
- When an invitation can't be used, you'll now be sent the right email explaining what to do instead of being silently redirected.
- Retired the old owner sign-up path; therapist and staff invitations continue to work as expected.
Scheduling & Imports
- Calendar views now place the first of the month under its correct weekday.
- Client imports report an accurate match count and no longer overstate what coverage information can be processed.
